Shalem Foundation is determinedly acting non stop towards the promotion and integration of the mentally retarded person in the Israeli society, aiming at improving the conditions at the different institutions and improving the lifestyle of this unique population.
The foundation is involved in every project that coincides with its goals and which contributes to the realization of its vision-
“The mentally retarded person have the basic right to live a normal life within their natural environment, to reach their potential and to become fully integrated in society, culture and employment as much as possible and in accordance with their ability, will and needs”. Needless to mention that the scope of work that is required and the resources in hand will never fulfill all the requirements and needs.
The range of aspects the foundation handles enables every person, business or voluntary social aid group to contribute in any field – physical development, arts, informative lectures, research and more…
The foundation is acknowledged by the income tax office for contributions according to article number 46.
